Streimer finishes 8th and 6th during double header at Lime Rock's "Bull Ring"

LAKEVILLE, Conn. (May 26, 2018) - A repeat podium finish was not in the cards during rounds 5 and 6 of the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge Championship season held as a double header on Saturday, May 26th at Lime Rock Park "The Bull Ring" in the GP of Lime Rock powered by M.

"We came into the weekend with a ton of confidence, but unfortunately struggled with overheating issues during the first race of the weekend, said Streimer. As the race went on and temperartures rose, the car began to lose power. At one point we fell all the way back to 10th position. When that 10th car passed me on the straight there was nothing I could do. I had the throttle on the floor but there was nothing there. Feeling helpless, I made the decision I needed to manage the situation and see if I could cool the car enough without loosing touch with the cars in front of me. With that goal in mind, I started accumulating data on what the car would and would not do and armed with that information I set off after the cars ahead me. With 6 laps remaining I was able to regain one position and made my final move on the last lap to regain another spot to finish 8th. Not where we wanted to be but it felt like a win."

Post race, TechSport Racing owner Kevin Anderson and lead mechanic Cody Gilbert for the #23 Nissan 370z, began work to make necessary modifications to get more air into the radiator. Their efforts were a success. "We had a really strong car for the 2nd race, said Streimer. After a strong start we settled into 3rd place behind Jeff Ricca and Johan Schwartz and held this postion until dropping a couple wheels off the track with about 10 laps to go and losing 3 spots as a result. Unfortunately, I made a small mistake and paid the price, says Streimer, once those guys got by, I just had nothing for them. On to the next one."

Touring Car Rounds 7 and 8 are set for Portland International Raceway on July 13-15.
